I am a graduate student from Germany, and spent the 1997/98 academic year in San Diego / La Jolla.
I finished my German "Diplom" (masters equivalent) in computer science at the TU Berlin in 1997. And was both doing research at the Salk Institute and visited classes at the UCSD.

My research here was centered around adapting one/some of the ICA algorithms used at the Salk so as to best work with some single-cell-recording data from Glen Brown.
